In the last couple weeks since my previous post, we\u2019ve engaged with an industrial designer! (Exclamation because I am REALLY excited to be this far along.) We recently received some concepts and are moving to the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wait, you thought we were done prototyping? You\u2019re right! Kind of. We figured out the features we wanted and now we have brought in someone who is an expert in making manufacturable designs that are, well, NOT ugly. Sadly, our current talent does not include anyone with artistic tendencies. Artistic tendencies are most definitely a requirement for consumer product design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was getting feedback on one of our prototypes a month or so ago, when the person so bluntly stated, \u201cit\u2019s ugly.\u201d Haha! Rude, but, yes, the early prototypes were meant to be functional<\/em>, not fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the process of moving toward the final product design we have already expanded on some of the fundamental presentation aspects. There\u2019s a user\/experiment booklet, sure, but I want to give you more than that. And, few of us like to read long paragraphs. If you made it this far, I think you\u2019re in the 1%. By the way, 87% of statistics are made up on the spot!<\/p>\n\n\n\n As soon as we have a product design, we\u2019ll be prototyping a more finalized version and hopefully get some pictures we can post in here. I\u2019m so anxious to show you this mystery kit! In other news we\u2019ve been making formal decisions about accounting software, e-commerce platforms, and payment systems among other business decisions.
